Magic Clock Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 September 2026

Magic Clock ("the app", package name com.inia.magicclock.free) is developed by inia ("we", "us") and distributed on Google Play.

1. Summary

Magic Clock is a focus/break timer that runs entirely on your device. We do not require an account and we never see your sessions, streaks or settings — they are stored only on your phone. The app shows Google AdMob advertisements and sends anonymous usage statistics to Google Firebase Analytics, as described in Sections 3 and 5. If you turn on extreme mode, the app also checks which app is open while you focus; that never leaves your phone either (Section 2).

2. Permissions the app uses, and why

Extreme mode (Magic Clock Pro) blocks the apps you choose while you focus. It is off until you turn it on, and it needs two more permissions, which Android asks you to grant in its own settings:

To let you choose, the app lists the apps on your phone that have a home-screen icon. The list and your choice stay on your phone. You can withdraw either permission at any time in Android's Settings → Apps → Special app access, and turning extreme mode off stops the checking at once.

3. Advertising

The app shows a banner ad while a session is running, during both focus and break. No ads are shown on the start screen or the session summary, and none at all once Magic Clock Pro is bought.

Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect and process data such as your advertising ID, general device information, diagnostics about how ads load and perform, and approximate location. Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent form before any ad is requested; declining costs nothing — ads become non-personalised or are not shown, and the app is otherwise unchanged. You can change your choice at any time in Android's Settings → Google → Ads. AdMob's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Purchases

Magic Clock Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details; Google tells the app only whether the purchase was made, so it can unlock the Pro features on your devices. Google's handling of payments is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Usage statistics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand whether the app is used and whether it works. It reports the following events:

Events are attached to a random identifier Firebase creates for the installation and, where you have allowed it, to your advertising ID. We look at this data only in aggregate — how many people use the app, how often, for how long — and never use it to identify or contact anyone. Google processes it under the Firebase privacy and security terms; per-user data is retained for up to 14 months.

We have no account system, no crash reporting and no servers of our own. Your session history, daily focus totals, streaks, settings and the apps chosen for extreme mode are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

6. Your choices

You can decline personalised ads in the consent form, or reset your advertising ID in Android's Settings → Google → Ads. If you have a question about data, write to the address in Section 9.

7. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. No child-directed ad treatment is configured.

8. Changes to this policy

If what the app collects changes, this page changes first, and the effective date above with it. Please check back occasionally.
